In Chinese culture, pigs are a symbol of wealth and their chubby faces and big ears are signs of good fortune. The pig is also the twelfth and final of the Chinese zodiac animals; often associated with generosity and representative of carefree fun, good fortune and wealth. Pigs are honest, trusting, educated, sincere and brave.

The Chinese New Year festivities will run from 2 to 17 February, with activations taking place across some of Melbourne’s most treasured landmarks including the Melbourne Museum, the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Queensbridge Square, the Docklands and South Wharf.
