A planning permit has been approved for an 8,000sqm office building which will sit above The District Docklands on Waterfront Way.

WOODWORK consists of a ground floor lobby retail with four large upper levels that can be interlinked to create functional and open plan space and is comprised of 80% CLT, an efficient prefabricated mass timber building method which has a far lower carbon footprint than other building materials. Its natural insulation moderates the internal climate within the building and all timber is sourced from sustainable forests. It will be the first CLT office building in Melbourne.

“This is a unique building which has 5.5-star NABERS and Green Star ratings due to the use of CLT, which has the structural strength of traditional concrete and steel but dramatically reduces the building’s environmental impact,” said Anthony Park of CBRE who have been appointed to steer the marketing in conjunction with Colliers.

WOODWORK is part of the overall exciting transformation of The District Docklands precinct which will enable tenants benefits such as 24/7 access to quality end-of-trip facilities within the building and significant retail and entertainment amenity for employees, hotels, medical and transport facilities and 2,250 car parks nearby - a “one-stop shop” for tenants.
